Alessandro Delfanti
Professor
Alessandro Delfanti is a professor at the University of Toronto, where he teaches at the Institute of Communication, Culture, Information and Technology.
He writes about the politics of digital technology, and has published extensively on labour, automation, technofutures, and digital countercultures. His most recent books are The Warehouse: Workers and Robots at Amazon (Pluto, 2021) and the collective volume Notes Toward a Digital Workers’ Inquiry (Common Notions, 2025). Alessandro is currently researching the rise of generative labour, that is the relation between creativity and work in industries that have adopted generative AI, ranging from aviation to fashion and porn.
