Lidoly Chávez Guerra
Dr. Lidoly Chávez Guerra is a Research Fellow at the University of Toronto Scarborough, whose work explores social XR and immersive activism led by Latin American women and artists of minoritized gender identities, both in their home countries and across the diaspora.
She is co-curator of Translocal Action Dialogues on Digital Archives (TADDA) alongside Dr. Stephen Lawson and Professor T.L. Cowan. She is also a member of the Creative Labour and Critical Futures (CLCF) research cluster and the founder of Public Tech Immersion, a community and open-access repository that supports creative intersections between performance and immersive technologies.
Dr. Chávez Guerra earned her PhD in Languages, Literatures and Cultures from McGill University. Her doctoral research examined phenomenology, embodiment, and stage presence in Indigenous theatre and performance in Mexico and Canada. During her time at McGill, she taught courses in European Theatre and Performance, Theatre and Politics in Latin America, and Hispanic Studies.
